Week 7 – Term 4 2019

Dear Parents / Guardians,

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Kevin Collins to the LIS staff beginning in 2020. Kevin is a former principal and highly experienced high school teacher and VET coordinator. Kevin joins LIS as we begin our first year 9 class. Kevin will teach maths, science and technology across the high school (years 7-9) as well coordinating our new Works Studies program and Certificate II courses in the Work Ready Institute. Kevin is no stranger to LIS or Lihir Island and is the brother of former LIS teacher, Ms Angela Collins.

The Year 7/8 students, accompanied by Mrs Laien, Mr McKeiver and myself, will depart for their Cairns trip, via Port Moresby this Saturday morning. They will participate in a range of activities in their week away, returning next Friday afternoon. During my absence, Ms Langusch will be Acting-Principal.
