Please read carefully the ‘New Normal’ requirements for Term 4 below. These practices continue to be in place to keep our children and island safe.
2021 Classes
I am currently in the final stages of organising classes for the 2021 school year. If you know your child / children will not be attending Lihir International School in 2021, and you have not yet informed me, please let me know as soon as possible so that year level numbers and class organisation can be finalised. 2021 classes will be announced in week 9.
Year 8 National Exams
Next week, our third cohort of year 8 students will sit for the National Examinations. This is a very important week in their school lives. They are well prepared for the exams and have been receiving extra coaching after school, on weekends and in the holidays. Thanks to Mr McKeiver, Mr Collins, Mrs Laien and the School to Mine staff for assisting with the exam preparation. Year 8 students will share a meal together after the conclusion of the exams and will have the day off on Friday. The following students will be sitting for the exams:

School Photos
School photos will be next Monday 2nd November. These will be individual photos. Students are to wear their normal Monday uniform. Kindy children do not have to wear a uniform. Many thanks to Annie McKeiver for taking the photos and for Amanda Amidy for assisting.
Temporary School Entrance Gate
Over coming weeks, construction of the new undercover walkway at the school car park gate will begin. During this time, students will enter the school from the back oval gate.
School for Term 4 will finish on Thursday the 3rd December.
