Week 7 – Term 3 2021

Year 10 Camp

We look forward to welcoming our year 10 students when they return from their Leadership Camp early next week, along with Mr Neville, Mr Collins and Mrs Romaso-Daimol. During their time away, students will participate in a range of leadership activities and visit OLSH School in Kavieng; the school where many of our students will attend for their final two years of secondary schooling.

School Photos

School photos will be taken next Friday for students in Prep-year 10. Students are to be in their formal Friday uniform.

Kindy photos will be the following Monday. Kindy students do not have to wear the school uniform.

Exam Preparation

The countdown is on towards National Exams and our Year 10 students will continue their exam preparation whilst on camp. Year 8 students have their regular Saturday morning exam prep at STM campus again this Saturday morning. We acknowledge the work that both students and teachers are putting in to prepare for the exams.

Saturday morning study session

It is a busy time of term with assessments due across many classes over the coming week. If students from the high school classes (year 7 and 9)  or the year 5/6 class need to access computers or complete a task, the year 5/6 classroom will be open on Saturday morning and I will supervise students from 8.30am – 11.30am.

Prep-year 2 Swimming Program

The Prep-year 2 classes will commence their block of intensive swimming lessons next Monday. Each class will have a lesson under the guidance of junior PE teacher Ms Savitas, along with assistant teacher supervisors. Students will have a daily lesson next week and also on Monday-Wednesday of week 9.

A letter was sent home this week with Prep-year 2 students to outline the swimming program and advise parents of what students need to bring each day. If you did not receive a copy, please download a copy via the link below.

Swimming Carnivals

On Thursday of week 9, there will a  junior mini-swimming carnival held during the school day and a carnival for years 3-10 commencing in the late afternoon. Further information about both swimming carnivals will be communicated to parents next week.

School Council Meeting

There will be a School Council Meeting next Thursday, 2nd September, commencing at 6.00pm in the year 9/10 classroom. This meeting is for School Council members.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact either myself or your child’s teacher.
