A priority for LIS/STM teachers is participating in quality professional development opportunities. Besides afterschool PD activities and Curriculum meetings held throughout the term, staff usually participate in a week of planned PD activities during the June/July holiday break; however, due to COVID 19, this did not occur. This is why the term commenced a week earlier than initially programmed.
Thursday, the 20th August, saw the teaching staff participate in a session on student/child protection led by Carl Judge, Principal Advisor, Child Protection, Education QLD.
Next Tuesday, the 25th August, the students will finish school at 12.35pm. In the afternoon, teachers will participate in professional development led by QCAA (Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority) officers. The timetable for this professional development can be seen below.
Upskilling of our teachers directly enhances the quality of learning in our classrooms.
