Week 6 Term 3 2017

Dear Parents / Carers,

It has indeed been an exciting week! Thank you all who attended the Golden Orchid Ball last Saturday night and supported LIPS. P&W put in an enormous amount of time and effort to ensure that quality entertainment, dining and fun at ‘A Night on the Oriental Express’ was had by all. Leigh Patterson-Kane expertly coordinated this event, ably assisted by members of P&W and many helpers during the setup and cleanup at the club. Many people would agree that the Kavieng Lifestyle band was sensational. P&W members, on behalf of the LIPS community, I applaud your passion and enthusiasm in planning and managing yet another very significant fundraising event for our school – many thanks and we appreciate your hard work immensely! We’re looking forward to working with the media and music equipment, and also new learning enrichment resources which will be purchased with some of this fundraising money 

Year 6/7 students, Miss Collins, Mrs Pesas and Mr Neville have been enjoying a full program of visits and participation which have so far included Australia Zoo, a visit to Brookfield State School where they met students and staff, and performed their Independence Day contemporary dance, a City Cat ferry ride, great views from the Wheel of Brisbane, Sea World on the Gold Coast … and they have already managed to squeeze in a shopping trip. Tonight they will be enjoying the Broncos and Parramatta NRL game at Suncorp Stadium.
