Week 3 Term 3 2017

Dear Parents/Caregivers,

Our Independence / 20th Anniversary celebrations are fast approaching. Thanks goes to the organising committee for enabling Gideon from St. Joseph’s International School in Port Moresby to spend time last weekend teaching the year 6/7 class a contemporary dance, which will feature at our celebration. There will be a meeting for the 2017 Independence Day Committee on Saturday 5th August at the LIPS undercover area at 1pm.

The LIPS School Council will meet tonight in the staff room at 7pm. We hope to see every member in attendance at this meeting. The School Council fulfils an important advisory role in developing and devising school policies and advising on various other matters. The School Council is made up of Newcrest Mining LTD appointments along with elected parent reps. Our current School Council chairperson is Mr Steve Butt.

Next Friday 11th August, Ms Sharon Collins, principal of St. Saviour’s College in Toowoomba QLD, will be visiting LIPS to meet with any prospective parents who may wish to enrol their daughter in boarding school. Please see attached letter.
