During the mid-term break, members of LIPS staff participated in Professional Development days. These days saw staff in- serviced in the ‘Sound Waves’ spelling program as well as strategies for teaching students whose first language is other than English. A day was also spent on upskilling teachers in problem solving skills in mathematics. Along with this, teachers spent time re-visiting the recommendations from the 2016 Education Queensland School Improvement Unit visit, and met with officers from the Education Queensland International Offshore Projects Unit. These are extremely valuable days for the teachers, that directly impact on the quality teaching and learning that is happening in LIPS classrooms.
