Week 4 Term 1 2017

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

The Lihir International Primary School Council Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held tonight in the school’s Music Room at 7pm. In 2017 Steve Butt will continue as our Newcrest appointed School Council Chairperson. Kelvin Gurra, Fiona Karaut, Leo Kola and Darren Smart are also Newcrest appointed School Council Representatives.

The Staff Rep is Jenny Thomas and Bronwyn Perkins will be the P&W Rep. Jerry Tiso has finished his term as a Parent Rep – thanks to Jerry for his contribution. Dennis Zeriga-Gati will continue as a Parent Rep for 2017. Nominations for the two vacant Parent Reps have now closed. Voting for these positions will occur at tonight’s meeting.

The School Council meets at 7pm on Thursday week four and week eight of each term. If you are interested in finding out more about the School Council please give me a call or make a time to come in for a chat.

Our bi-annual Year 6/7 Trip will be on this year from August 21 to August 28. There will be meetings scheduled to inform parents on all aspects of the trip.
